[It's certainly nicer than Omar's room, which is a condemned squatter's hole that he doesn't actually live in. He's slept there maybe once since his arrival, preferring to move around through the different empty cabins. Less comfortable than he prefers -- except when he beds down on a common room couch -- but safer, in his mind, when no one knows where to find him at a moment's notice.
Still, he's looking around appreciatively when she returns.]
The man likely to grant a request like that? Or is that only for y'all?
[He takes the toothbrush with a broad smile, the scar on his face crinkling pleasantly.] Much appreciated, Warden.
Just "Laura," please--and I don't know if he'll grant my request or not. I know he does change up rooms sometimes, when asked, but he's pretty fickle all the time. There's a warden who just recently asked for their inmate's room to be changed, but I don't know if that will work out.
[She's about to take a seat on the couch when she remembers that doing so would make her a rather poor hostess.]
Would you like something to drink? I have water, fruit juice, cherry Coke...
[This is all a little unexpected: go for a toothbrush, and suddenly he's being had over for, if not exactly afternoon tea, the closest thing to it he's ever had. Omar's good at not showing what he's thinking, but even he looks very slightly nonplussed.]
